What do i do if i found a starving cat on the road and when you pet it all you feel is skin and bones?
what kind of food do i feed it and how do i confort it?
Please take it to a vet or emergency animal clinic they would probably start it on IV's for nutrition, possible infections, etc. My concern is giving the cat solid food to quickly it may upset it's stomach and make it vomit especially if it is so starved they will gorge.
You could try soft food to start with, but do a teaspoon at a time (about every half hour for 2 hours). If no vomiting occurs, then increase the amount given. Also monitor the water given. If excessively thirsty, the cat may want to drink so quickly that again it would shock it's system and vomit. Start with a small amount and increase if no vomiting occurs.
Wrap it in a blanket warmed in a dryer and just love the poor thing. Good Luck and keep us posted!
