Loud yowling cat - Training collar - Shock collar - no bark collar have you found any for cats?
Can you help? I have a cat that wants out at night. I would love to let him out but he gets into fights and loses. (lots of expensive vet bills) Anyway it's keeping us awake! Have any of you ever found a no bark (yowl) collar for cats and have any luck? I want to keep the cat. I know I must be crazy but there's got to be a way to win this battle with the cat. Thank You 
Ok thank you for the answers so far. Yes Monty is neutered he was years ago. He is very healthy. We put him out on a harness in our back yard for a few hours each night. We keep him a regular schedule for that hoping that he won't ask to go out at other times. He likes to walk right into our room yowl and run away. We yell he's quiet for about 15 minutes then it starts again. I might just need to buy many many water guns. Any new thoughts?

I would not suggest an electric collar for a cat under any circumstances. There is a reason for his yowling and wanting to go out. You did not say if your cat is neutered, but if not, that would be step one, get him neutered.
Neuters are far less enamoured of roaming than their intact brothers to begin with.
One of the things you can do is to keep him confined at night in a spare room, or bathroom. Do not pay attention to him when he is begging to get out, either. There may be a medical reason for his yowling as well. How old is he? He may be going deaf or something is hurting him, as well.
Battling with a cat is really a basically fruitless endeavor. One has to think like a cat and learn how to outwit them.
Once you get a clean bill of health from your vet, you can proceed with behavior approaches.
There is an excellent book that you can purchase on Amazon.com. It is my feline Bible, actually. Written by Wendy Christensen, "Outwitting Cats" is a must for all people that live with cats.

Punishing cats for misbehavior generally doesn't get anywhere. It only makes them scared of us. Redirecting behavior and finding ways to alleviate situations does work, with patience.
Cats are nocturnal critters. They sleep most of the day. Suggest you also play with him before retiring rather strenuously ( once you know all is ok with him physically) and give him a snack before bedtime. A full tummy usually quiets kitties down and gets them in the mood for sleep.
